With over 25 years of experience in independent school education, Karen Brandt is committed to fostering inclusive, student-centered school communities.

As a former Division Director of Middle and Upper School in a NYC independent school, she oversaw the academic and social-emotional growth of students and faculty and staff. Her leadership emphasized strategic planning, innovative programs, and building authentic relationships with all stakeholders.

Previously, as Department Chair of Health Education, Karen established K–12 health education standards, authored key policies on consent and harassment, and developed family engagement initiatives. She also co-created a Professional Growth and Development Program to enhance faculty mentorship and evaluation.

As a consultant to schools nationwide, Karen advises on social-emotional programming and strategic initiatives, leveraging her expertise to support institutional goals. She is the architect of multiple areas of student support to ensure the school’s mission of comprehensive student care – academically and emotionally is tended to.

Karen excels in dynamic environments, balancing relational leadership with a results-oriented approach. Her strong emotional intelligence enables her to cultivate vibrant school communities.
